The Dyatlov Pass incident- Autopsies [Part 4] {7/23/23 WP}

I am going to share parts of the autopsy findings as written by my source material. Some of the judgements and conclusions that website comes to are speculation. And I am not sure my own conclusions will agree. But this will give you a sense of the condition of the bodies and details about what might have taken place. We will revisit the autopsies again when we look at the numerous theories.

 

All hikers wore winter layers appropriate for a Siberian trek, with notable exceptions listed below. 

 

I have also written injuries that are (in my judgment) outside of weather, hiking/climbing, or a natural disaster.  Disregarding frozen extremities, missing tips of noses, hand injuries that could be from climbing or other hiking activities, and things I think would bruise and break in a fall.  I have provided the full autopsy links so you can refer to them.

Autopsies:

– minor abrasions on the forehead (1)

– abrasions above the left eyebrow of brown- red color (3)

– brown- red abrasions on both cheeks (5)

– dried blood on lips (6)

– lower jaw had a missing incisor, the mucosa was intact that suggest the tooth was lost long before the final trip (6)

– on the lower third of the right forearm and the palm surface many small scratches of dark red coloration (11)
